Products

At FemtoInnovations, we develop a range of cutting-edge products designed to meet the needs of micro and nanomachining, biomedical device manufacturing, microelectronics failure analysis, and more.

FemtoChisel

FemtoChisel is an integrated laser system designed for micro and nanomachining. It comes with a user-friendly software interface for planning machining operations and offers a high level of automation. Equipped with machine vision, FemtoChisel monitors and controls machining processes and characterizes workpieces in real time. Its sophisticated gas processing system facilitates cleaning and cooling during machining.

One of the key features of FemtoChisel is its modular design, allowing extensive customization based on user requirements. Options include additional characterization modalities, such as Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS), confocal microscopy, and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Further customizations can include integrating larger stages, additional degrees of freedom, and support for various processing gases.

Applications:

  • General micro and nanomachining
  • Biomedical device manufacturing, particularly surface restructuring and reactive restructuring (collaboration with Integer and Pulse Technologies is central to our efforts)
  • Failure analysis of microelectronics
  • Sample preparation for material science and biomedical samples

FemtoTagTrace

FemtoTagTrace is derived from FemtoChisel and offers a rapid, cost-effective solution for creating unclonable tags for product traceability. These tags help prevent counterfeiting and support product authentication. They can be read using various imaging modalities, including optical and terahertz imaging, allowing for tag reading even below packaging layers.

Applications:

  • Microelectronics
  • Pharmaceutical products
  • General product traceability and authentication

FemtoInspect

FemtoInspect enhances the capabilities of FemtoChisel by integrating a high-resolution, fast imaging modality for 3D volumetric imaging of samples. It supports a consecutive delayering/imaging process where the sample is transferred back and forth between delayering and imaging compartments in an automated, high-precision manner. The imaging modality can be tailored to different techniques, including confocal microscopy or SEM.

Applications:

  • Verification and validation of microelectronics
  • Obsolescence management through design reconstruction of electronic parts
  • Material science research
  • Biomedical sample analysis
  • Software Products

Argos

Argos is a web-based platform for visualizing microscopy images. It allows users to access large microscopy images remotely, eliminating the need for expensive software and hardware. With Argos, users can collaboratively navigate, annotate, and analyze images from anywhere.

Features:

  • Remote access to microscopy image visualization
  • Collaborative annotation and analysis
  • User-friendly navigation for large datasets

FemtoInsight

FemtoInsight is an AI-powered software designed for image analysis, offering capabilities such as automated semantic segmentation, image registration across different modalities, and image fusion. It finds applications in tasks like netlist extraction for microelectronics, mapping neurons for connectomics, and automated defect detection. A standout feature of FemtoInsight is its use of synthetic data, eliminating the need for time-consuming manual labeling.

Applications:

  • Netlist extraction for microelectronics
  • Neuronal mapping in connectomics
  • Automated defect detection across various fields
